Community Roundup: The 6th Annual PFCU Car Show, Reentry Awareness Month and Philly PrideDay
PFCU held its 6th Annual Philadelphia Federal Credit Union Car Show on Sunday, June 2 at the PFCU Operations Center in Northeast Philadelphia. Attendees enjoyed food, entertainment, and craft and raffle tables, and more than 70 awards were given away. The event was hosted and judged by the Gas Guzzlers Car Club of Philadelphia. A portion of the proceeds from the event were donated to the Delaware Valley Veterans Home.

PFCU is a member of the Philadelphia Reentry Coalition, a coalition that brings agencies and organizations working on reentry in Philadelphia together to collectively reduce recidivism. In coordination with Reentry Awareness Month, on June 6, the Coalition held its 2nd Annual Reentry Celebration and Awards Ceremony. PFCU’s Erin Ellis nominated two individuals at agencies that work with the Coalition to receive awards and both were recognized during the ceremony.
Lionel Wiley, nominated by PFCU’s Erin Ellis, received an award for his work with the Philadelphia Reentry Coalition on June 6.
Later in the month, PFCU held an Intro to Financial Literacy Seminar for Returning Citizens at the Philadelphia Reentry Coalition. The seminar included tips on savings practices, understanding spending habits and learning about credit and identity protection.
On Sunday, June 9, Philadelphians celebrated Pride Month at the 31st annual PrideDay Parade and Festival in Center City. A group of PFCU employees attended the celebration together to support the advancement of LGBT rights.
