PFCU Scholarship Program

PFCU Scholarship Program

Our annual scholarship awards $2,500 to four high school seniors who are members in good standing at PFCU.

At PFCU, we’re committed to helping our members thrive. Which is why we created our Scholarship Program in 2004, to help our younger members achieve their educational and life goals.

Want to apply? Here's what you need to be eligible:

  • Be a member of PFCU in good standing
  • Be enrolled as a high school senior at the time of application
  • Appear in person at a predetermined branch to receive documentation and take part in a photo
  • Use scholarship funds for tuition or textbooks only at an accredited education institution

What about the selection process?

Scholarship entry period begins in March of each year. Judging is based on subjective criteria including essays, weighted objective criteria, academic performance, extracurricular and community activities, references and personal goals. Those selected must appear in person to receive their scholarships and take part in a photo. If any winner fails to attend at their predetermined meeting time, another winner will be selected in his or her place.

Employees of PFCU, directors, volunteers and their immediate families are ineligible to participate.

CCP Scholarship

Our CCP scholarship offers $600 per fall semester for a member enrolled at the Northeast Regional Center.

We have a special scholarship for our members pursuing their associate’s degrees at Philadelphia Community College. Men and women who have demonstrated academic achievement, have overcome barriers along the way, and who meet the other criteria will have this scholarship applied directly to the recipient’s tuition account.

Want to apply? Here's what you need to be eligible:

  • Be a current Community College of Philadelphia student who is registered for at least 6 credits with one course being taken at the Northeast Regional Center.
  • Be enrolled full-time or part-time (minimum of 6 credits/semester) in any of the College’s associate degree programs.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.0.
  • Be a member of the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union. Membership will be verified upon selection of recipient.

Employees of the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union, directors, volunteers and their immediate families are ineligible to participate.

Enroll in the Tuition Rewards Program

Our Tuition Rewards Program is a college savings plan like no other – as your balance with PFCU grows, so do your Tuition Reward points. And no matter what, you’re guaranteed that your scholarships can equal up to one full year’s tuition for FREE.*
You can register several students to receive points from multiple family members, including parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and even godparents.

Once enrolled, you can:

  • Check reward balances
  • Edit student information
  • Transfer points to/from a student
  • Submit points to member colleges & universities**
  • View a list of participating schools

Every PFCU member enrolled in Tuition Rewards will now receive a minimum quarterly reward of 250 rewards points ($250 value) – or, 1.25% of end-of-quarter qualifying assets, whichever is larger.

* Some schools have a limit that may be less than 25% of the cost of tuition. Account holders can view a complete list of member schools along with the maximum amount each school will accept from the Participating Schools page after logging in.
