Community Roundup: FAN Club, Depaul House Volunteer Barbecue and Northwest Philly Pop-Up Event
At Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU), our neighborhoods are near and dear to our heart. Here’s a roundup of our latest community activities:
In collaboration with FAN Club, PFCU hosted a six-week financial education series in July. Our Accredited Financial Counselor, Erin Ellis, helped rising high school juniors and seniors learn good money management habits that will help them pursue financial goals. Topics covered included paying down debt, improving your credit score and implementing a balanced budget.

As part of PFCU’s ongoing support for Depaul House, a nonprofit that helps homeless and disadvantaged men, we were invited to join a volunteer celebratory barbecue. Through our ongoing partnership with the organization, PFCU employees donate interview clothes to residents to set them on a path for a better future. Additionally, Erin Ellis works with residents to provide direction on how to improve their credit score. We look forward to our continued partnership!
On Friday, July 20, PFCU granted our Northwest Philadelphia members’ and neighbors’ financial wishes by helping them toss pennies into the PFCU Wishing Fountain at our 6707 Germantown Avenue branch pop-up event. Participants earned prizes, soft pretzels and other PFCU swag. Make your wish for a brighter financial future at our next event at the West Philadelphia branch at 5000 Baltimore Avenue on Friday, August 10!
