Community Roundup: Columbus Day Parade + Delaware River City Corporation Love Your Park Day
At Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU), our neighborhoods are near and dear to our heart. Here’s a roundup of our latest community activities:
Sunday, October 9 the Columbus Day Parade and Italian Festival marched through South Philadelphia to celebrate Ciao Philadelphia’s Italian Culture Month. The parade kicked off at Broad and Morris Streets and continued on to Marconi Plaza. Thousands of Philadelphians turned out for the celebration of the deep Italian roots of South Philly. PFCU dressed in green, white, and red and carried a banner reminding our neighbors of our admiration for Philadelphia’s history.

On Saturday, November 12 PFCU sponsored the Delaware River City Corporation (DRCC) Love Your Park Day. The DRCC works to revitalize a sustainable riverfront corridor in northeast Philadelphia by reconnecting the people, places, businesses and neighborhoods of the City of Philadelphia and the surrounding region. On Love Your Park Day, students from Franklin Towne Charter High School and volunteers from Youth Volunteer Corps Philly cleaned up trash, raked leaves and planted trees along the Delaware River Trail.
