Community Roundup: Career Day at Thomas Mifflin School
On Friday, June 4, PFCU's Erin Ellis attended a Career Day at Thomas Mifflin School, where she spoke with two groups of students ranging from fifth grade to eighth grade students. Erin discussed her education and work experience, as well as what financial education is and why it is important, specifically the importance of bringing financial education to low income and marginalized communities who have been denied access to mainstream banking and financial education and information. Erin then led a Money Personality Quiz among the students and rounded out the conversation by discussing saving money, the idea of paying yourself first, and answering insightful questions that the students had about personal finance.
