Community Roundup: Annual PFCU Giving Tree and WB Saul High School Financial Literacy Class Graduation Ceremony
On Wednesday, December 4, PFCU’s Erin Ellis attended a graduation ceremony for WB Saul High School seniors who participated in her financial literacy class. The students completed a six-class series where they learned valuable information about financial literacy. In addition to the graduation ceremony, the high school seniors received gift cards donated by PFCU and the Urban Affairs Coalition, a local non-profit partner of PFCU.

On Wednesday, December 18, PFCU held its annual internal Giving Tree event. This year, to spruce up the Giving Tree, PFCU partnered with local nonprofit Turning Points for Children. Through Turning Points, PFCU worked with two Head Start partners to collect gifts for a program that serves Pre-K children from low-income families and hardworking, young parents and their children. PFCU employees had the choice to purchase gifts for the children or to purchase Amazon gift cards so that the parents, who know their child the best, could pick out a toy for their child. PFCU employees helped spread some holiday cheer by collecting and delivering a total of 170 gifts to children prior to the holidays.
