Community Roundup: 2016 Community Ties Contest + PFCU Donates Gifts to St. Ignatius Nursing Home

Jan 26, 2017

At Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU), our neighborhoods are near and dear to our heart. Here’s a roundup of our latest community activities:

Over the holiday season, PFCU once again held our annual Community Ties contest to show support to nonprofit organizations that are making Philadelphia a better place to live, work, and play. In 2016, nearly 500 of our Facebook followers voted on one of six local nonprofits to receive donations from PFCU. Veterans Multi-Service Center (WMC) received the most votes and received a donation of $720 directly from PFCU. Each participating nonprofit received a donation of $5 per vote. Thank you to all our followers who participated in this year’s Community Ties contest. Keep an eye out for the 2017 contest this December.

Thank you to everyone who voted in our Community Ties contest and to all our participating nonprofits. We look forward to the 2017 contest this December!

On December 23, PFCU held its annual gift drop-off as part of the “Santa for Seniors” program, an internal community initiative that allows employees to adopt a senior and fulfill his or her holiday gift wish. The residents of St. Ignatius Nursing Home were delighted to once again be the recipients of 148 beautifully wrapped holiday presents compliments of Philadelphia Federal Credit Union’s employees. This was the fifth consecutive year PFCU partnered with the West Philadelphia nursing home to lift the holiday spirits and make the season brighter for St. Ignatius residents.

We love supporting our communities across the greater Philadelphia region. Check out our social pages for upcoming events to get involved!
