PFCU in the Community: Q4 2023

December 18, 2023

Throughout the year, PFCU takes pride in assisting ordinary Philadelphians in achieving their financial goals. As an institution owned by its members, we are deeply invested in the well-being of our community. Demonstrating our commitment, we have donated both resources and valuable time to support various organizations and institutions across Philadelphia. Plus, we host educational programs to empower and educate individuals.

Here's some of the work we're proud of:

Made Institute Fashion Show

On October 14, the Made Institute held its 10th Anniversary Fashion Show Fundraiser. The Made Institute provides the highest levels of design education at an affordable price. The show celebrated the new collections of 18 graduate and all-star designers who completed the institute's Designer Development Program. PFCU served as a sponsor for the event, held at the Cherry Street Pier.

Bloomsburg Football

PFCU served as the game sponsor for Bloomsburg University's football game on October 7 against Kutztown University. Employees of the PFCU Bloomsburg branch were on hand to distribute free co-branded drawstring bags to attendees. While the Huskies were not victorious that day, the PFCU team had a blast cheering on Bloomsburg!

Awbury Arboretum Harvest Fest 2023

PFCU served as a sponsor for the 2023 Awbury Arboretum's Harvest Fest, which took place on October 22. The event featured live music and a number of fall favorites, from hayrides to s'mores making and a farmers market. Our Business Development Specialist, Yorkenia Gomez-Almonte, attended the festivities to distribute literature and free giveaways.

John Wister School

On October 31, PFCU Community Relations Specialist Erin Ellis visited the John Wister School to drop off colored pencils and savings coloring sheets donated by PFCU. The school serves over 500 students from kindergarten through 5th grade in Philadelphia.

Temple Football

On November 24, PFCU's Board Treasurer, Joseph F. McHugh Jr., received the game ball from Temple University Athletics at halftime of their football game against Memphis to recognize PFCU's commitment to the Owls athletics program. PFCU is the official credit union of Temple University.

When we lend our unwavering support towards these exceptional endeavors, it truly underscores our commitment to effecting positive change in the lives of Philadelphians.
