PFCU in the Community: Q1 2024
May 14, 2024
Throughout the year, PFCU takes pride in assisting ordinary Philadelphians in achieving their financial goals. As an institution owned by its members, we are deeply invested in the well-being of our community. Demonstrating our commitment, we have donated both resources and valuable time to support various organizations and institutions across Philadelphia and Columbia Counties. Plus, we host educational programs to empower and educate individuals.
Here's a roundup of our recent community involvement:
Giving Tree Campaign
PFCU's 2023 Giving Tree campaign was a tremendous success! Through employee generosity matched by our Board of Directors, PFCU donated $4,000 to the Veterans Multi-Service Center. Together, we're making a meaningful impact by supporting essential resources, including housing assistance, job training, legal aid and mental health services for deserving veterans.
PFCU Day at Bloomsburg University
PFCU members and fans enjoyed a doubleheader featuring the women's and men's Huskies basketball teams on January 31 as they challenged the West Chester Golden Rams. PFCU Bloomsburg branch employees were on hand to distribute co-branded giveaways to the fans.
Career Day at Hardy Williams Mastery Charter School
At PFCU, we believe in investing in our community's future leaders by helping young people explore career paths and develop financial literacy skills. PFCU Business Development Manager Leanne Dewitt met with students at Hardy Williams High Mastery Charter School during their Career Day event on February 2.
PFCU Day at Temple University
PFCU members and fans enjoyed a family day out watching basketball on March 2 as the Temple Owls challenged the Tulsa Hurricanes. During the festivities, PFCU Treasurer of the Board Joseph F. McHugh, Jr. took to the court to accept the game ball from Director of Temple Athletics, Arthur Johnson.
Financial Workshop at OIC Philadelphia
Empowering futures one workshop at a time! PFCU Financial Educator Yahne Jackson recently visited OIC Philadelphia to lead an engaging session on building and repairing credit. At PFCU, we're committed to equipping students with the knowledge and tools they need for financial success.
Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade Sponsorship
On March 10, PFCU was once again proud to serve as a sponsor of the 252nd Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. PFCU Board members, employees and their families joined thousands of fellow Philadelphians marching to the beat of Avalon String Band to the delight of the spectators. The parade has been a Philadelphia tradition since 1771 and was televised on CW Philly and CBS3 with a rebroadcast on March 17 in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
Philadelphia Phillies Home Opener
PFCU supported our Phillies during their home opener on March 29 at Citizens Bank Park. Leanne Dewitt, our PFCU Business Development Manager was there to greet the fans and distribute PFCU literature and free giveaways.
When we lend our unwavering support towards these exceptional endeavors, it truly underscores our commitment to effecting positive change in the lives of Philadelphians.
