PFCU in the Community: Q1 2025

April 8, 2024

At PFCU, our mission extends beyond financial services – we're dedicated to fostering stronger communities throughout Philadelphia. As a member-owned institution, we take immense pride in contributing to the vibrant fabric of our city through sponsorships, educational initiatives, and active participation in local events. The first quarter of 2025 has been particularly exciting, with numerous opportunities to engage with our community and demonstrate our commitment to Philadelphia's growth and prosperity.

Here's a glimpse of our community involvement during Q1:

  • Bloomsburg Basketball Sponsorship Game: On February 22, PFCU proudly sponsored the final home games of the season for Bloomsburg's basketball teams. With the women's game tipping off at 1:00 pm and men's at 3:00 pm against West Chester University, the stands were filled with enthusiastic fans from both schools. These collegiate matchups provided an excellent platform to connect with students, families, and alumni while supporting local athletics.

As the official credit union of SJU Athletics and the official banking institution of the Saint Joseph's University Alumni Association, PFCU will provide comprehensive financial literacy programs for student-athletes and sponsor key university events. We look forward to supporting both men's and women's athletic programs beginning with the 2025 season.

  • St. Patrick's Day Parade Sponsorship: PFCU proudly sponsored and participated in the historic 255th Philadelphia St. Patrick's Day Parade on March 16. Board members, committee members, employees, and their families marched alongside the Avalon String Band up to the Philadelphia Art Museum, joining thousands of Philadelphians in this beloved tradition dating back to 1771. The event was televised on CW Philly and rebroadcast on CBS 3 on March 17. Our team seized this festive opportunity to introduce Betsy, our new virtual assistant, to the enthusiastic crowd.
