Community Roundup: PFCU Kensington Derby & Arts Festival and Depaul House Philadelphia Graduation

Jun 25, 2019

At Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU), our neighborhoods are near and dear to our heart. Here’s a roundup of our latest community activities:

On May 11, the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union Kensington Derby & Arts Festival entered its 13th year celebrating human-powered transit, neighborhood artists, and local businesses in Kensington. As the title sponsor, PFCU brought back its infamous “Orange Zone” and “Mud Pit” obstacles for a second year and crowned its first ever Derby Queen.

Funds raised from the Philadelphia Federal Credit Union Kensington Derby & Arts Festival support neighborhood projects and revitalization through the community development work of the East Kensington Neighborhood Association (EKNA) and the New Kensington Community Development Corporation (NKCDC).

On May 21, PFCU’s Erin Ellis attended the graduation and 10 Year Celebration event for Depaul House Philadelphia, an organization that helps individuals who are homeless, vulnerable and disadvantaged. Graduates of Depaul House have gone through the organization’s transitional housing program and “graduated” out of homelessness. Erin Ellis has been providing financial education to residents at Depaul House Philadelphia for nearly five years.
