At Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU), our neighborhoods are near and dear to our heart. Here’s a roundup of our latest community activities:
September 24 and 25 marked the Bike MS 2016 City to Shore Ride to raise awareness and funds for the National MS Society. The ride spans 100 miles from PATCO’s Woodcrest Station to Ocean City, New Jersey. To date, cyclists, volunteers, and donors have raised over $1 billion which has gone to help people affected by MS and research to stop the disease in its tracks.
PFCU assembled a team of riders, the PFCU Free Wheelers, to pedal the distance and raise money for the National MS Society, a cause near to the hearts of the PFCU team. In 2016 the PFCU Free Wheelers set a fundraising goal of $2,500. By the end of the ride, the team of eight PFCU employees exceeded their goal by raising a grand total of $4,395!
We look forward to beating our goal again in 2017! For more information about Bike MS and the City to Shore Ride.

On Sunday, September 25, PFCU sponsored SPIN’s fifth annual Possibilities in the Park 5K run/walk/roll. SPIN is a nonprofit that provides services to over 3,500 people with autism and intellectual/development disabilities in Southeastern Pennsylvania and the Lehigh Valley. The weather was sunny and warm, perfect for breaking a sweat or taking a leisurely family stroll. Both serious runners and families with small children showed up ready to tackle the course. PFCU was honored to support a cause that is important to our members and neighbors. We look forward to next year’s event!
