Community Roundup: 19154 5K Race + 2017 Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby Team Sponsorship

Mar 2, 2017

At Philadelphia Federal Credit Union (PFCU), our neighborhoods are near and dear to our heart. Here’s a roundup of our latest community activities.

On February 4, PFCU sponsored the fifth annual 19154 5K Race, an annual event hosted by Saint Anselm Parish in the Parkwood section of Northeast Philadelphia. The race is held every year on “Super Bowl Saturday” and includes a 5K race, one-mile walk, and kid’s fun run. The family-oriented race is an integral part of the neighborhood’s community. Proceeds from the race support Saint Anselm Parish’s ongoing work of forming responsible young Philadelphians.

PFCU was a mile-marker sponsor of this year’s event with proceeds benefiting Saint Anselm Parish in the Parkwood section of Northeast Philadelphia.

This month PFCU announced its sponsorship of a student team for the 2017 PFCU Kensington Kinetic Sculpture Derby and Arts Festival. The sponsorship comprises $4,000 from PFCU to cover the cost of design and assembly of the sculpture.

The call for entries opens on March 3 and can be found here. Applications are accepted until March 24. Winners will be notified on March 31. The sponsorship will kick off with an initial budget meeting with PFCU’s Accredited Financial Counselor, Erin Ellis.
